|Gifford Jackson is a designer who has worked in Europe, North America, and in his native home town of Auckland, New Zealand.
He designed the Marisol skiff for his own use, and the plans, all 35 pages reproduced here, are of an extremely high level of detailing, with many imaginative features, showing a builder's pride in creating something distinctive and unique.
The boat is of shallow vee-bottom with lapstrake topsides over sawn frames. The construction is of plywood and epoxy, but this is miles away from the usual popular 'stitch and glue' method.
The rig is sliding gunter of 75 sq.ft. (6.96 sq.m).
